The 7th Annual Bloxy Awards took place on March 21, 2020. This was the first year that it was free and happened in-game. Personally, I think because no one was paying Robux they did not take it as seriously.
Instead of a fancy auditorium, it was disco-themed. It would have been nice to see something a little bit fancier. Going on, everyone just stood around and clicked a button in the top right corner that zoomed in on the awards. Now that talking about the build is out of the way, let’s talk about the awards itself. The quality of the video was blurry and a disappointment. Obviously, making a clip like this was not easy, I just wish more effort they made the quality a little bit nicer. Moving on, the content was decent. I thought it would’ve been nice to give awards to more than just Adopt Me and Arsenal.
If it wasn’t Adopt Me or Arsenal, I hardly recognized the other games. Some of the awards were random. It would have been nice to see awards such as “Best GFX” or “Best Group”. Honestly, they also seemed much shorter than usual which can give the impression that they didn’t take the Bloxy Awards as seriously this year. I understand it is hard to make such a long production, but compared to other years it was a let-down.
Overall, they were decent but not as good as they could have been. I don’t think they really met the hype, but that’s just an opinion. They were talked a lot about and everyone was so ready for a half-hour performance. It is pretty impressive that ROBLOX is able to make these awards, I just wish they matched the overall quality as previous awards.
